Sunday, July 21: 2:00-3:30 pm:
Monthly Discussion meeting – Meeting this month is the Huntsville Public Library on Monroe Street in Huntsville, in room A/B (to the right of the lobby). (Note: future meeting space is TBD. We will attempt to get the Foundation room on the second floor each month. Suggestions for reliably available space welcomed!)
We begin with introductions and announcements, reading, then discussion from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. This meeting is for serious discussion – what humanist idea is on your mind? What topic do you want scheduled for future meetings? (I’ve been thinking about what it means to be a good citizen, and what does citizenship imply, both negatively and positively?)
“To be a good citizen, it’s important to be able to put yourself in other people’s shoes and see the big picture. If everything you see is rooted in your own identity, that becomes difficult or impossible.” – Eli Pariser
